Alison Zlotow, violin

A member of the ICE from its inception, Alison Zlotow is currently pursuing her Graduate Diploma from the New England Conservatory as a student of Donald Weilerstein with whom she completed her Master's Degree last May. As a soloist, she has performed with several Chicagoland orchestras including the Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Khatchaturian violin concerti.

Alison is also a highly active chamber musician and recitalist. She has performed with the Corleone String Quartet in Boston's Jordan Hall and as a soloist, she has played recitals throughout the United States, France, and Poland. She was a top prize winner in both the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and also the National Foundation for the Arts. Alison has been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, a participant in the Aspen Chamber Symphony for three years, and the prestigious New York String Seminar in Carnegie Hall. She has also performed as a substitute with the Chicago Symphony, and she has played under the batons of James Levine, Daniel Barenboim, David Robertson, Robert Spano, Marin Alsop, and David Zinman.

A diverse violinist, Alison has performed on televised events with artists Celine Dion, Josh Groban, and Jennifer Lopez. As a member of their World Tour Orchestra, she performed with the Three Tenors. Alison has participated in master classes with artists such as Janos Starker, Michael Tree, Pinchas Zukerman, Ida Kavafian, Fredell Lack, Felix Galimir, and Sinichi Suzuki. A former student of Almita and Roland Vamos, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She has also studied with Shmuel Ashkenasi and Janis Wittrig.
